Supporting Strength, Balance, and Brain Health for Older Adults

StickFit® Silver is a structured cognitive and physical training program designed to help older adults move with confidence, stability, and independence at every stage of ageing.

Delivered safely in seated, supported standing, and standing formats, StickFit Silver supports longevity, brain health, and quality of life.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Senior Fitness Needs to Evolve

As the population ages, more people are living longer, but not always living better.

Many older adults experience declining balance, slower reaction times, reduced coordination, and increasing fear of movement. These changes can lead to falls, loss of independence, social withdrawal, and reduced quality of life.

Traditional senior fitness programs often focus solely on safety and low-impact movement. While important, these approaches rarely train the brain and body together in a way that reflects real-life movement demands.

To truly support healthy ageing, programs must address both physical capacity and cognitive function.

WHAT MAKES STICKFIT SILVER DIFFERENT

An Integrated Approach to Body and Brain Training

StickFit Silver is designed around the understanding that movement and brain health cannot be separated.

Every session integrates:

• Coordination and rhythm
• Bilateral and cross-body movement
• Reaction and sequencing
• Progressive balance and strength work

Participants move in multiple directions, use both sides of the body, and respond to changing patterns. This keeps the brain actively engaged while the body moves, supporting both physical function and cognitive health.

Rather than pushing intensity or exhaustion, StickFit Silver prioritises controlled, purposeful movement that builds confidence and adaptability over time.

HOW IT WORKS

How a StickFit® Silver Session Works

1. Warm-up and neural activation

Each session begins with gentle, guided movements to warm the joints and muscles while also waking up the nervous system. Simple stick patterns and rhythm cues help prepare the brain and body to move together safely and confidently.

2. Coordination and rhythm drills

Participants practise easy-to-follow stick patterns that involve timing, hand changes, and rhythm. These drills improve coordination between the eyes, hands, and feet while helping the brain stay engaged and alert during movement.

3. Balance and functional strength work

Exercises focus on movements used in daily life, such as standing, reaching, and maintaining posture. Balance and strength are trained together, with seated, supported, or standing options to ensure safety and appropriate challenge for every participant.

4. Cognitive challenge through sequencing and reaction

Movement patterns are layered with simple memory, sequencing, and reaction tasks. This encourages the brain to adapt, respond, and stay focused, supporting cognitive health alongside physical ability.

5. Cool-down and confidence reinforcement

Sessions finish with slower movements, breathing, and gentle stretching to help the body recover. Participants leave feeling calm, capable, and confident in their movement, reinforcing a positive experience and motivation to continue.

Programs are delivered live, in-person, or online, and can be adapted to individual or group formats.
